As an employee of Fanshawe College you may be required to work on-campus, remotely, or a combination thereof. Confirmation of your work location will be clarified with you upon hire, and may be subject to change based on the duties required of your position.
Note: This is a regular part-time on campus position (up to 24 hours per week, Monday-Thursday) commencing August 2, 2022. This competition is open to external applicants and all employees of Fanshawe College; however, applications from Regular Part-time (RPT) members of the Part-time Support Staff bargaining unit will be given first consideration.
Both the physical and the online store – livechic.ca – are run by students of the Fashion Marketing and Management Program. You shop…..we learn.
We sell a curated collection of apparel, accessories gift and beauty merchandise. We buy locally, supporting current students and graduates including small vendors and artisans.

Job Responsibilities:
- Supporting faculty with assigned curriculum directives to be completed in program store (Retail Learning lab)
- Responsible for ecommerce customer service and fulfillment
- Responsible for all store opening and closing procedures, daily sales reports and deposits
- Oversee students with pricing merchandise, keying inventory in the Point of Sale system, and completing returns of any defective merchandise to the vendor
- Execute instore channel strategies in collaboration with students including Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok
- Ensure all health and safety guidelines are followed as per College policy
- Training students to use Point of Sale system
- Collaborating with students on follow-up with vendors, maintaining stock levels in store and online, and receiving merchandise and supplies
- Coaching students with customer service and sales, including assisting with buying, merchandising and displays
- Overseeing students during their scheduled shifts and ensuring a checklist for the student’s responsibilities and expectations is completed
- In collaboration with students, assist with new ways to improve sales, meet sales targets, analyze figures, forecast volumes, and strategize for optimal success
Job Requirements:
- Strong organization skills, time management skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Qualification & Experience:
- Experience with Retail Point of Sale systems and Shopify would be an asset
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Experience with merchandising and display
- Minimum 3-5 years’ retail and management industry experience
- Post-secondary 2-year diploma in Fashion Merchandising/Marketing and Management preferred
