Job Description:
We are looking for a part-time Media Broadcast Technician accountable for providing comprehensive technical support to the live production and ancillary staff of the Calgary and Satellite markets. In Rogers Sports Media, broadcast is undergoing dramatic transformation, the successful candidate joins a team at the forefront of making this happen. This role offers the opportunity to participate in initiatives spanning from legacy to the leading edge of innovation in a time of rapid change.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain, repair and install broadcast Digital systems such as live streaming audio and video
- Maintain, repair and install AM, FM and DTV transmission systems, including microwave and associated subsystems
- Rotating Production shifts, swing after-hours on-call, occasional travel
- Provide personalized technical support to on-air, internal and remote staff
- Maintain, repair and install broadcast studio systems, including automation systems
- Coordinate and cooperate with other Rogers divisions
- Create and maintain complete site documentation
Job Requirements:
- Comfort working flexible hours when required and being on a regular after-hours on-call rotation with other team members
- Proactive attitude excited to complete projects and tasks with minimal supervision
- Expertise with modern computer systems and networks, video broadcast networks, digital audio networks, broadcast automation and transmission systems with networking experience is an asset.
- Passion for Audio and Video
- Calm demeanor under challenge with strong customer focus
- Comfortable lifting and handling standard broadcast equipment and working on ladders under 2 meters
- A valid provincial driver’s license
Qualification & Experience:
- Education or Experience in a related field
- Technical IT skills (Computers / Networks)
