You’ll be a part of the Workspace Operations team at Shopify with a mandate to connect Shopify employees to the mission, making commerce better for everyone, and each other through a simple and inclusive work experience. In this role, you’ll focus on collaboration and consultation with a variety of stakeholders across Shopify while planning their Bursts. You will also support our internal teams with the creation and curation of their in-person experiences from ideation to completion.
Job Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships while planning their burst with a variety of stakeholders across Shopify: Security, Facilities, Culinary, Procurement, Internal Solutions, and more
- Act as the primary point of contact for all event-related inquiries
- Partner with the Workspace Strategy team in identifying experiential opportunities in order to iterate and evolve our teams journey and event offerings
- Liaise between internal teams in the planning of the events and onsite operation teams in the execution of the events in order to guarantee a seamless experience
- Conduct vendor invoice reviews to ensure billing accuracy and timely payment
- Facilitate internal meetings as you perceive necessary for the success of the events
- While planning, you will represent the entire Workspace Operations offering to our clients (venues, culinary, activities, technology, etc.) and always keep user experience top of mind
- Source, secure, and collaborate with 3rd party vendors for onsite/offsite employee activations and/or experiences
- Performing other duties as assigned to meet business needs
- Create, develop and manage front-line tools and resources for events (event guides, event app comms, event support channels etc.)
- Create and detail Banquet Event Orders (BEO’s) for all onsite events
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience with designing and delivering in-person events
- Ability to multitask on a number of concurrent projects with varying deliverables and timelines
- Proficient in switching between high-level strategic thinking and detail-oriented work
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills
- Being intentional and adapting on the fly, Shopify and the work you do will move quickly, but there is always time to pause to ensure we’re moving in the right direction
- Particularly skilled at building high trust relationships quickly
Qualification & Experience:
- Experience in the hospitality industry
- Experience in event management
- Experience working across different cultures
